FUN INTRODUCTION TO CRICKET FOR 3-6 YR OLDS!Our Little Crickets program provides children aged 3-6 years with a perfect introduction to cricket in a relaxed, fun and friendly environment. Sessions are specifically designed to help young children improve their physical literacy, balance and co-ordination with a strong emphasis on fun and games! We are passionate about children learning through play, surprising themselves and making great memories.Little Crickets offers so much more than just cricket. Introducing cricket at an early age can enhance the development of your child’s mental agility, co-ordination, social skills, gross and fine motor skills and confidence, and regular sessions will really help foster your child’s independence. Repetition of specific cricket drills in a fun and relaxed environment also aids key developmental skills, such as building concentration levels and learning to follow instructions, which become more important as your child reaches school age.
There are 2 different LITTLE CRICKETS classes which are tailored specifically to the needs of children:
MINI BOUNCERS (3 – 4 year olds)
Our Mini Bouncers class offers a perfect introduction to the game for our youngest members through small interactive group activities and fun games. Children are introduced to the basic skills needed to play cricket including hitting, throwing, bowling, stopping, running, turning, jumping and catching. Classes are fun and play oriented to keep our young players engaged and on the ball!
BIG HITTERS (5 – 6 year olds)
Our Big Hitters class focuses on fun and encouragement, builds self-esteem and confidence in our players through developing their cricket skills. Each session builds on the foundation skills learned in our Mini Bouncers classes. Sessions are focused on cricket specific skills and include an introduction to basic coaching techniques for batting, bowling, fielding and wicket keeping. Small sided games are used to support your child’s understanding of playing cricket, tactics and sense of teamwork.
